Dragons in all their mythical majesty never cease to excite wonder and stories in their name. A flying bringer of doom to those who seek harm to one they have bonded to.

Paolini has certainly fallen in love with the myth and joins the esteemed company of McCaffrey and Tolkien in this developing fantasy world.

I find it hard to grasp that in an era that has found and absorbed Tolkien to find this young and highly skilled craftsman emerge from nowhere and produce a work that will further this remarkable heritage.

Its not a work of great prose nor florid imagery but is precise, edited with skill and purpose and above all tells a story. A story that is not the same yet lives in the now well worn realm of fantasy and magic.

Paolini has learnt his craft and has been promoted to guildsman. Will he become the Master Craftsman - there is nothing to stop him.

I look forward to following this young authors growth and future publications. Eragon could easily be a film or television series as the scripting is tight and dialogue crisp with not a lot of embellishment. Well done and keep them coming.
